Uma Musume: Pretty Derby grabbed my whole attention one fateful 2021 day.
Ever since then I’ve obsessed over the game, which led me to look up the equivalents in real life horse racing… and as it turns out, the attention to detail the game puts into reflecting its real life counterpart is so granular that even quotes during the gameplay are lifted straight out of interviews and races.
This results in a feedback loop where the more you learn about the game the more you want to learn about the real life events, which in turn makes you appreciate the care and effort put into the game even more.
This website is an outlet for that where I can put the fruits of all the reading into a more longform place that is slightly less risky for archiving than social media posts.
