Who is Daring Tact?

There’s this girl that’s been showing up here and there for a while now.

During the last chapter of Team Sirius she is there to the side of the scene, on the newest Splash Screen she’s there also. She was also announced for a while and still has no information beyond revealing that the girl on the website is indeed Daring Tact as fans theorized since the first time they saw her as is usual.

The first thing that sticks out is that Daring tact is the youngest horse in the whole cast, having been born in 2017, and being 6 years old as of this writing. For reference, Kitasan Black was until recently one of the youngest horses implemented and Kitasan Black retired in 2018.

The second is that in what’s probably the first case so far, she’s actually the Great Granddaughter of Special Week and Granddaughter of Symboli Kris S. Daring Tact’s father Epiphaneia is descended from Symboli Kris S and Caesario, and Caesario is descended from Special Week and Kirov Premiere.

The scene is set in Sakura season and with Special Week recruiting new members which implies Daring Tact is a freshman (freshwoman?) just coming in.

The third is that her career happened in the middle of the pandemic, with her most notorious victories happening in 2020. Related to this, Daring Tact hasn’t retired yet, meaning that it’s the first horse that was designed and announced while the real one is still active. There is a girl in the last episode of season one of the anime (aired in 2018, probably in production since way earlier) that looks suspiciously like Kitasan Black but no evidence that it is Kitasan Black in some plausibly deniable early stage.

Finally, even at this stage, Daring Tact already has a notorious accolade, being the sixth mare ever to win the Triple Tiara (winning Ouka Sho, Yushun Himba, and Shuuka Sho) following in the steps of Mejiro Ramone (first one, and just added to the game), Still In Love (Sunday Silence descendant), Apapane (Descendant of King Kamehameha who got ALMOST implemented in the first batch), Gentildonna (Deep Impact descendant, another name looming over me), and Almond Eye (Daughter of Fusaichi Pandora that I mentioned briefly before).

Not only that, but Daring Tact is the First one in HISTORY to achieve an undefeated Triple Tiara (meaning winning all three titles with no loss in-between).

Featured alongside glimpses of Tap Dance City, Neo Universe, and Satono Crown, whose designs haven’t been highlighted in any way yet.

Considering all of this and that no seiyuu has been announced yet, it’s really hard to say if we’ll see anything more about Daring Tact in the immediate future. But there’s something really cool in what Daring Tact symbolizes in a way.

There is a number of designs from the first batch of characters suspiciously missing, and considering all the clown antics on the first trailer ever made it’s not hard to see why anyone would pull their name rights. So to go from “This design was probably, supposedly, King Kamehameha, we’ll never know because someone had the brilliant idea to have her be a creep to Hishi Amazon” to “This horse’s career isn’t even over but we’re gonna go ahead and let you use her name to base a character off her.” is just one of the many glow ups the franchise has seen since 2016.

Seriously though, what the actual fuck.
